I conduct funerals and other ceremonies that are compassionate, sympathetic, warm and entirely tailored to the deceased and the needs of family, friends and other people connected with them.  I live in South Devon, and am available to help create and conduct this most important occasion with you from Plymouth to Exmouth, Buckfastleigh to Bickleigh. I am happy to travel further afield by negotiation.

I have had many years of experience creating rituals, ceremonies and performances as an actor, writer and theatre maker. I have also taught in Primary, Secondary and Post 16 education, and been a trainer, teacher and coach for both performers and other professionals looking for voice, public speaking or communication skills development.  During this time I developed many skills in myself that I now bring to all aspects of my work as an accredited Humanist Celebrant.  I have been a member of the British Humanist Association (now Humanist UK) for many years, and have led a secular life since long before that.

I wanted to become a celebrant so that I could offer professional level secular ceremonies that were friendly, meaningful and responsive to the needs of the people involved.  I trained with Humanist UK as I felt that the depth of training given, and the level of support and understanding far outstripped other training that I investigated, and was at a level to match the commitment to this work that I held.

My commitment is to work with you to create a meaningful ceremony that reflects and honours the person who has died. A Humanist funeral has no preset template to follow – we can devise something together that is truly particular to the unique person whose life we are to celebrate.
