Introducing myself

November 25, 2010

I qualified as a BHA trained celebrant in May 2010 after thirty years of working as a nurseryman (growing and selling plants) in a family business. I have held humanist beliefs for as long as I can remember and have always enjoyed meeting and talking to people. One of my main hobbies is writing and so the preparation of scripts is a joy and never a chore. I enjoy public speaking and I derive great pleasure in meeting people and, having experienced the loss of friends and family, feel empathy with mourners.  So combining all these led me to the decision to contact The British Humanist Society and train to be a celebrant.

Now with several hundred funerals behind me I feel confident that I can help create the funeral most suited to any circumstance.

If I can be of any help to anyone reading this blog please do not hesitate to contact me.

Duncan.
