Renewal of vows
I’m working on the script for my first renewal of vows ceremony. Forget photo shoots of celebs in Hello! magazine – this is really moving stuff. Our culture places so much emphasis on the romance of weddings, but once you’re actually married, that fact that you might still like each other is supposed to be kept quiet like some dirty secret!
It’s wonderful to be involved with people who want to take stock of where they are and how their relationship has grown and developed, and to say something about the depth of their love (sounds like a song!). And all done with sensitivity and without sounding like ‘smug marrieds’. Genuinely, a privilege.
