Hi, I’m Sophie. A wedding-loving people-person with a penchant for story telling and the ambition to create and deliver your perfect ceremony… whatever that might be.

I will work with you to construct a wedding ceremony that is totally unique to and reflective of you both … incorporating everything you need to send you on your way to happily ever after.

I’m based in Shropshire, but love to travel, so don’t be put off by my location if you’re further afield (or your venue is).

About me

Call me crazy, but I absolutely love the buzz of standing up in front of a room full of people and waxing lyrical about the couple in front of me, about to get wed… I was the schoolgirl constantly cast as ‘narrator’ in the school play, who excelled in public speaking and could spin a good yarn.

When I collected my English and Drama degree in 2009, it’s fair to say I had no idea how I might put my new qualification to practical use… Well, being a Humanists UK accredited Wedding Celebrant allows me to do just that!

I adore the sense of occasion that comes with a wedding… no matter how big and colourful, small and intimate. I love the power of words and how they make a group of people feel. I cherish the privilege of getting to know a couple’s story; what binds them together; sets them apart from others.
Perhaps most of all, the excitement of the fact that each wedding I conduct is totally different, keeps me challenged, entertained and regularly emotional (in a good way!). In my case, as a Wedding Celebrant, it’s easy to love my job.

When I’m not off round the country marrying wonderful people like you, I work for a national organisation engaging business leaders throughout the Midlands.

A proud and happy ex-Londoner, I traded the hustle and bustle of the big smoke for  super Shrewsbury in 2018 and have never looked back.
Nothing makes me happier than time with friends and family, a well-deserved holiday or the joy of a successful book recommendation (both ways!). Oh, and good wine, of course.

When it comes to love stories, mine is my favourite of them all: my husband Jack, our sassy pants four-year-old daughter Bonnie Bean and newest addition Otis Bean, who arrived in July 2021.
