My Services

I offer celebrant services for cremations, burials and memorials.

I will always start by meeting the family and/or friends of the deceased.  I like to have a thorough chat about the person, so that I can really get a feel of how that person liked to live their life.  I often say that this process takes as long as it takes, I think the record for me is four hours!  More usually, it will take a couple of hours.  This does include talking about a basic sequence of the ceremony and the possibility of music, readings and poetry.

I am very happy to suggest a format for the ceremony, but I am equally pleased to be led by the family in terms of what they would like.  I can suggest poetry and readings, if that is what is wanted.   After I have put together the ceremony together, including writing the words, and incorporating others’ contributions, I send a draft copy and follow up with a call to discuss how the family feel about the draft and any changes that need to be made.

I like to keep in touch and make sure that the family have their requests put into action and know exactly what to expect on the day.

On the day, I always arrive early to ensure everything is as it should be, and to reassure all mourners.  I conduct the ceremony in a professional way.  I am well known for my reading style, which is full of feeling, and enthusiasm – where appropriate.    When I was a teacher, my students said I should be a tv presenter!

After the ceremony, I like to call the family to ensure all is ok, and I can pass on contact numbers for organisations to help with whatever comes their way.  I also send a copy of the the ceremony so that it can be looked back at when the time is right.

Please feel free to contact me for details of how I can help you celebrate the life of your loved one.
