My name is Ann Rippin and I live right in the centre of Bristol. I love being a naming celebrant because namings are such joyful events. They mark a new life for everyone involved and every new start has its own story. I aim to capture with you the joy and significance of your very special day. We will weave your stories, favourite music and readings into a celebration which will make a day to remember for you and all your guests.
I became a humanist celebrant because I believe that we all need to mark special events in our lives whether or not we have a religious faith. I am really interested in how we can live good and meaningful lives without God, but mainly I want to see people enjoying the opportunity to celebrate new lives.
Before becoming a celebrant I worked at the University of Bristol as a teacher and researcher. I worked with a broad range of people and travelled quite widely. I bring skills in public speaking and research from my thirty years plus in higher education to my new work.
In addition to my celebrant work I run a small textile studio in my garden. Textile work, including embroidery, patchwork, quilting and anything else to do with fabric fascinates me.
Please get in touch with me if you would like to know more or would like to talk about a naming for your baby or yourself.
We chose Ann as the celebrant to host our son’s naming day. We worked closely together to tailor the ceremony and Ann’s delivery made the occasion full of love and really personal. She did a fantastic job and we couldn’t be happier. Thank you Ann for everything, you were fantastic! What a happy day, thank you for being part of it.
