Namings
A humanist naming ceremony is a chance to celebrate and welcome the arrival of a child into your family and your community. It’s an occasion to bring family and friends together and to perhaps reflect upon the roles that key people will play in the life of the child, or children!
A naming ceremony can be held anywhere and at any time. Although most often done in a child’s early years, they can be appropriate for older children who might be celebrating a key milestone or a rite of passage into maturity. Sometimes they are for multiple siblings, or combined with another celebration (such as the parents wedding or the child’s birthday). The occasion can be held pretty much anywhere; a village hall or hotel, a garden, a campsite, a kitchen – the important point is that each ceremony is totally unique, just the way you want it to be and a lovely reflection of who you are as a family.
For any more information or clarification about any of the above – please feel free to call me and have a chat, or drop me an email – whether you chose to use me as your celebrant or not – I am more than happy to help.
Thank you, Emily
