I enjoy being involved in other people’s special days and celebrating significant life events and relish opportunities to share in other peoples’ times of joy and positivity, looking forward to a life and future together
As a trained teacher and long serving Headteacher of a special school I have many of the skills required of a wedding celebrant:
- I regularly conduct assemblies and make presentations to interested and sometimes less interested parties!
- I write reports for a wide range of audiences and readers; having to be very aware of the variety of levels of engagement and interest;
- I need to listen to a wide range of people, both adults and children, ensuring that I fully understand what they are saying through a use of active listening skills and precise questioning;
- I manage often emotionally charged situations and create a sense of calm which gives those involved the confidence to be able to stand tall and be proud:
- I have developed interpersonal skills and believe that I am approachable and non-judgmental.
I like to be involved in supporting people to enjoy ceremonies in places that have relevance to them or a sentimental association.
