Humanist Ceremonies

Why have a humanist ceremony?

  • to provide a secular, bespoke and inclusive ceremony to embrace the individuality of those central to it;
  • to offer an opportunity to celebrate significant life events in a specific venue which has significant meaning or importance to those involved;
  • to celebrate an occasion with wonder and joy

Cost of a Humanist Ceremony

My fee for a wedding is £500 for ceremonies within a 30 miles radius, weddings further afield may include a nominal mileage charge. I ask for a £200 deposit when contracts are signed.

This cost includes:

  • An introduction by way of a conversation either in person or by Skype/FaceTime;
  • A longer meeting during which we will plan how you want your celebration to be – again this can be preferably in person, or via Skype / FaceTime if necessary;
  • A draft of your ceremony, which will be exchanged between us and honed to your individual preferences and choices. This dialogue can continue up until 24 hours before your ceremony;
  • A rehearsal of the ceremony, on or before the day;
  • Delivery of the ceremony and a signed Humanists UK Marriage certificate
  • A presentation copy of your ceremony for you to keep for posterity;

As a trained and accredited Humanist UK Wedding Celebrant I am covered by the Celebrant Code of Conduct and covered by Humanist UK’s Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance

My training and accreditation ensure that I am assessed and judged competent against  Humanist UK’s Competencies  framework for UK Celebrants. This quality assurance scheme means that our work is of the highest possible standard and that we regularly participate in continuing professional development.

Finally, by being a member of my local Humanist UK network in Essex and bordering counties, you can be confident that should I not be able to meet your requirements fully, then there is a team who are available to step in and support at any point.
