About Gill Hinckley

I am an accredited Funeral Celebrant living and working in the Lake District, however I conduct ceremonies throughout Cumbria.

My aim is to prepare a ceremony which  does not contain formal religious worship, whilst acknowledging and respecting the beliefs of everyone. I believe in meeting and talking with with family members and friends where appropriate, to craft a ceremony which celebrates the life of your loved one and leaves you feeling that you have honoured them in the right way.

I can assist you to make the many choices which face you at this difficult time, including the content and format of any contributions from you or someone else close to your loved one, pieces of music and  poems or readings.

I have an interest in ceremonies in less traditional settings, such as in your own home or garden. Ceremonies can also be arranged in community spaces, and memorials can be outdoors in a special place within this lovely part of the world. I can also assist in arranging live music if you would like to include this in the ceremony, as I have many contacts who are superb instrumentalists and singers.

I was drawn to becoming a Celebrant after many years working as a solicitor in Cumbria. During that time I met and helped many people at emotional times in their lives, and would like to help you in a similar way by creating a bespoke ceremony which fits your loved one, you and your family.
