Namings

Have a happy humanist Naming and Welcoming for your baby (or older child!)

Ring Guy on 0779 304 7887

We approached Guy to host our daughter’s humanist naming ceremony, after we held a humanist funeral for my late Grandfather. We wanted to celebrate the new life we had brought into the world, but in an informal way, so decided to hold a small private naming in our own garden for family and close friends. The ceremony Guy gave us was more than we could have hoped for. He gave us the opportunity to make everything so personal and because of that, we felt we truly honoured our daughter – there certainly wasn’t a dry eye by the end! Thank you Guy for naming our daughter and giving us such special memories – memories we shall treasure forever.”  (Laura and Mark)

You will experience the joy of all your loved ones gathered together to celebrate your new child. You will be loved bombed with special wishes for your baby (not to mention presents). You can appoint Guide parents who will be special people in the lives of you and your child.

And you will strengthen those important  ties with family and friends.

You can have these happy occasions  at home, in the garden, in a function room of a club, a hotel, a village or church hall, pub or Stately Home.

Ask me to to meet with you and find the meaning of the ceremony which is right for you, and what your hopes and dreams are. I draft a script unique for the event which meets your hopes and personal ideas. Together we amend the ceremony draft and plan the event in detail to make sure it is the perfect and joyous occasion you want.

You can include poetry, readings and contributions from grandparents, relatives, friends and guide-parents. You can include a symbolic aspect, for instance the planting of a tree or the placing of good wishes for the future by all present on the tree or in a book.

Friends thought it was one of the best Welcomings for a baby they had attended. It was personal, relaxed and supported by contributions from family which touched people’s hearts. Just Lovely.

It felt as if it was all about the love, hope and support we had for each other. Great. Thank you. (A Grandmother)
