Hello, I am a Celebrant with Humanist Ceremonies Northern Ireland, part of Humanists UK.

I aim to provide funerals and weddings which are unique, deeply meaningful and memorable. I work with couples and families to understand their thoughts on the ceremony as well as making suggestions and providing guidance where it is helpful. It is very satisfying when the couples or families afterwards say how much they appreciated the support I gave them and how personal they felt the ceremony was.

I work closely with the Funeral Director or Wedding venue/planner to make the ceremony the best it can possibly be. All arrangements and the wording of ceremonies including the order of the ceremony, readings and music are agreed in advance so that you can make sure you are happy with what is planned.

One of the aspects of being a Funeral Celebrant which I enjoy most is being able to capture the essence of a loved one from the stories the family tell through the laughter at an event recalled, mixed with the sorrow of their loss. I respect so much the privilege of having people allow me to be with them in their grief and honoured to have them share their stories with me.

As a Wedding Celebrant, meeting a couple for the first  can be a joyful and uplifting experience as they are so generous in sharing their happiness and the stories of their unique relationship. The meetings with couples and families and building a relationship with them are so important in planning a ceremony.

I live in the Ballymena area so it is easy for me to travel anywhere in the Council areas of Mid and East Antrim, Antrim-Newtownabbey, Causeway Coast and Glens, Mid Ulster and parts of Derry and Strabane. If I can’t help you I will quickly find a colleague who can. As I am retired I can usually be very flexible with times so that we can meet when it is convenient to you.
