End of life planning

Thinking about and discussing your own funeral and end-of-life plans can save your family and friends a lot of time and effort later on. There’s a great deal to think about and do after someone dies, so planning ahead makes this much easier.

Simply talking about and sharing your ideas on how you want to mark the end of your life can also help you and others be more prepared for and at peace with death when it comes. It’s a subject for honest, open-hearted dialogue with the people you love.

It pays to think and decide in advance

I can help you think about, plan and write clear instructions for the sort of send off you want. I can’t guarantee to officiate at the service myself, or vouch that your family will follow all your wishes to the letter. But pinpointing and recording your preferences will certainly make things smoother and less stressful for everyone.

My standard fee for an end-of-life planning meeting or discussion and write-up is 60% of the full funeral rate (including travel within a 50-mile radius of Oxford). An extra charge will apply for planning sessions further afield.

“After chatting to us for just two hours (which I think you handled very sensitively), I am so impressed that you were able to convey such an accurate picture. Thank you for making a very difficult service for us bearable and meaningful.”
