A Humanist Wedding

 

It’s your big day and an opportunity to celebrate with your nearest and dearest in a way that’s perfect for you. Humanist wedding ceremonies are ideal for couples who want something meaningful that reflects their values. Whether you favour traditional, quirky or a mix of the two, I’ll create something unique, just for you.

Your wedding might include your story as a couple, what marriage means to you, promises which you may wish to write yourselves, the exchange of rings or other tokens of love, and perhaps, a symbolic ritual such as handfasting. Often there is music, readings or poetry and your friends, family or even your pets might like to play a part.

 

 

How I work

If you are looking for a wedding ceremony that is calm and gentle, includes everything you want and nothing that you don’t then let’s talk! I’m often described as ‘a safe pair of hands’ – I know that’s not very edgy, but it is what I do! I’ll guide you through and help to turn your wonderful ideas into reality.

How to Book

If you think I might be the celebrant for you then please get in touch by email or phone and let’s have a chat and check that I’m free on your preferred date, if you already have it. The next thing would be for me to meet both of you for an informal meeting (no charge) of up to an hour just so we can get to know each other – preferably face to face over a coffee, but virtually if needed. Then, if you’d like to go ahead and book me, a non-refundable deposit of £100 would secure the agreed date.

What Happens Next

• We’ll have a planning meeting to go into the fine detail of what you’d like
• I’ll offer suggestions on how to incorporate your ideas into the ceremony
• I’ll prepare a script for you to review
• You can suggest changes or additions to the script until it’s perfect
• We agree the rehearsal time for all key people

 

On the Day

• I’ll be there early to greet contributors and make sure they are prepared
• I’ll welcome the guests and lead your wedding ceremony
• I’ll give you a keepsake copy of the final script

 

My Fee

My fee of £650 includes the above services and travel costs for weddings anywhere east of Maidstone in Kent.
