Commemorations & Memorials

In this increasingly secular life, religion and the church have become markedly less important in the roles they play in the rites of passage throughout our lives

When a person wasn’t really that interested in religion during their life it can seem uncomfortable to those closest to them to have to gather in a church or chapel with a priest or minister in order to say goodbye.  In these circumstances, the most comforting experience might be an event where you can play favourite music and read wonderful poetry and quotations.  Friends and family can freely offer stories and anecdotes and you can think ‘outside the box’ when it comes to location as well!

A private send-off for close family and friends or even an unattended cremation or burial can be followed by a wonderful larger-scale celebration of life where everyone can relax and do real justice to the memory of the deceased.  A woodland walk, a seaside rendezvous, the local pub, a theatre, picnic and rounders; the possibilities are endless, limited only by your imagination.
