About Jonathan
I’m 62, I live in Sedgefield and I’m from the area having gone to school in Spennymoor so I have that clear but distinct soft Co Durham accent. I’m retired so I’m generally always available and any regular grandad or sporting commitments I have can easily be changed.
I enjoy being a celebrant, it is a pleasure and a privilege to be able to write and deliver a celebration of life. Each service is unique and designed around the person we are remembering. I spend around 16 hours working on each tribute
Work and experience wise, for many years, I was a software entrepreneur starting, growing and eventually selling my business which was based on e-learning. One distinctive memory of publicly being the centre of attention was when I presented my then embryonic company to 300 venture capitalists at a conference seeking external investment (I got it). I’ve always been good with groups of people with questions in meetings and I’m always well prepared.
- I’m a big fan of local sport, following Sedgefield rugby in the winter and being a cricket umpire in the summer in both Durham and North Yorkshire leagues.
- I’m both a motorcyclist and a horse rider, so I do like a bit of excitement and speed.
- I enjoy cooking and travel – I’ve lived a varied life and traveled extensively. My favourite places for me – India, Sri Lanka (on a motorbike) Italy and West Coast of Ireland in a campervan.
- I’m good with dogs and love the outdoor life.
