The home visit

Working together to create the perfect ceremony.

If you have decided you would like me to conduct a funeral ceremony of a loved one the first thing that will happen is a home visit (this can happen on zoom if preferred).  This meeting usually involves the people who want to contribute directly to the planning of the ceremony.

I listen carefully to the information shared with me at this meeting and collaborate with the appropriate person /people to create a ceremony that celebrates the life of the person who has died.  I will then produce a script of  the ceremony which can be amended as needed.  It is crucial that it feels right and that it fits.

Sometimes it’s not the just the obvious facts that tell the story of a person and who they were in the world, but the information inbetween the lines, the nuances and the finer details.  The choice of music, poetry and readings etc all have an important part to play.

The objective is that the ceremony ‘fits’ perfectly. The essence of the person who has died fills the ceremony space allowing for the collective celebration and honouring of their life.
