About me

I was born in Florence (Italy) and moved to the UK over thirty years ago with my English husband.  While raising a family – and loving it – I had a fulfilling professional career in medicine and mental health, working as an NHS Consultant Psychiatrist.

On approaching retirement, I decided to continue to use and develop my skills by training and volunteering as a Non-Religious Pastoral Carer, supporting people at critical times in their lives.

While volunteering as a humanist pastoral carer in a hospice and at a local University, I completed a Masters in Existential and Humanist Pastoral Care, including full training in Humanist Ceremonies, having already completed a similar training in Italy before the pandemic.

I feel privileged to be able to support people at the most significant moments in their life, including those difficult and challenging times, and I am happy to be called at short notice, if the need arises.
