Namings

In most human societies, all over the world, over many millennia, ceremonies have been held to welcome newborn individuals into the family circle and into society. In recent times, in the UK, this has tended to be a christening. When a baby is born, there is a lot of pressure, from well-meaning family and friends, to hold a christening and people vie to be appointed as godparents. This happens even when everyone knows that the new parents are not religious in any way.

If you have a child and want a meaningful ceremony, without hymns or prayers, without going to church and without a priest involved, then why not have a humanist naming ceremony?

Like all humanist ceremonies, a naming ceremony is tailored to your requirements. You have total freedom over the choice of venue, music, readings, guide-parents (special friends, mentors, even what you call them is your choice!).
