Memorials

There are times when you might wish to hold a memorial ceremony that is separate to the funeral service. Sometimes a smaller group of family and friends may want to gather together to spend time remembering the life of the person who has died, finding a more personal way to honour their memory and sometimes making commitments to other, younger family members.

Sometimes people want to provide a memorial ceremony a little while after the funeral, giving a wider group of people the chance to come together and creating a ceremony that can have a wide variety of contributions, readings and music.

These ceremonies can take place in people’s homes, or somewhere that has a particular association with the person who has died.

Again, my role is to create a ceremony that reflects the unique qualities of the person who has died. I would meet with you to listen to your ideas and together we can work out the best way to create the ceremony that you would like. We can use a similar structure to that of the funeral ceremony or we can create something totally unique. Often the ideas flow from our conversation together as I help create a structure that will work best for you.

Again, I will send you a draft copy which you can add to, alter and make further suggestions until you have a ceremony that meets your needs.

Following the ceremony I will give you a presentation copy.
