About My Celebrancy

Marking your life-defining moments

The big occasions in our lives – our weddings, funerals, and namings – should focus on the people we are and those that we love. My celebrancy is based on my belief that your life-defining moments should be marked in an authentic, meaningful, and fitting way, as individual as you are.

A humanist ceremony provides you with a unique commemoration of your life’s biggest moments – the starting of your family, your marriage, or the death somebody you loved.

It celebrates what makes people wonderful in all their diverse humanity, and gives space for families, friends and the wider community to celebrate or mourn by focusing on what is, what was, and what you hope will be.

One of my core beliefs as a humanist is that, because we only have this one life to live, we owe it to ourselves and those we love to live as rich and full a life as possible. We must strive be as happy as we can possibly be while still respecting the people and other life that we share this planet with.

If, like me, you are not religious, or are but would prefer a well-crafted, bespoke ceremony as unique as you are, then a humanist celebration or ceremony may be the answer.

I come from a long career as a newspaper editor, journalist and communications consultant. I have spent my life helping people tell their stories. As your celebrant, I will tell your story.

I have been based in the UK since 2013, having grown up in Zimbabwe and lived in South Africa for many years.

I look forward to speaking to you about how I can help you have the ceremony you want. Call me on 07454 402024 or email me on quentin.wray@humanistceremonies.org.uk.
