Weddings

Congratulations! As you are looking at this page then you are probably planning a wedding. Thank you for considering me as your celebrant. I hope that you will choose me and that I will make your big day extra special.

A Humanist wedding ceremony is an opportunity for couples to publicly declare their love for one another and for their aspirations for their future together in a meaningful way but without a religious service. I will create a unique and bespoke ceremony in accordance with your wishes  in whatever surroundings you choose. I have conducted weddings in a wide variety of settings, in back gardens, private houses, a golf course, an arboretum, barns, hotels, and a village hall, the choice is yours.

At present such a ceremony is not recognised under English and Welsh law and so a civil ceremony conducted by a registrar is also required, but a Humanist ceremony is a memorable and meaningful occasion that the couple, their family and friends can enjoy.

I will meet with the couple to discuss the kind of ceremony that they would like. It can be traditional or as personal and quirky as you want. It might include music, poetry, readings from friends or family, symbolic rituals and vows. You can write your own vows or I can write them for you.

Once you are satisfied with the ceremony I will attend a rehearsal with you and any available contributors nearer to the date of the actual event. On your special day I will conduct the ceremony and you will have the confidence that you have engaged a safe pair of hands for this most important event.

Testimonial

Dear Richard
We wanted to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for performing our wedding ceremony on 16th August 2017. So many people commented on how personal and genuine the ceremony was, and how much they enjoyed it. It was a very special day for us, and you were a big part in making it a reality. Thank you for all your work, suggestions and patience. (Wedding August 2017)
