Two Wheels Good

My piece about using a scooter for suburban trips has been neatly upstaged by Neil

I have been in Newbury for four years and before that in Bolton.  Virtually all my journeys have been by bike or, on some longer trips, by bike and train.   From Bolton I would as a matter of course ride to Rochdale, Blackburn, Skelmersdale etc.

In Newbury the local crem is a pleasant 7-mile ride, partly along the Kennet and Avon canal.  If I wear cycling clothes for longer rides I pack formal shoes and clothes in my pannier, along with the paperwork.  It has always been fine to change at crematoria but sometimes – e.g. on family visits – I have had to change in some unorthodox places!
