About Sheila Churchill
I am lucky to have had a career as a nurse which I absolutely loved. Over the years I worked in a variety of interesting roles in Oxford and Oxfordshire, in hospitals, GP practices and in the community.
For many years, I considered becoming a Humanist Funeral Celebrant but felt I was too busy or wasn’t sure if it was something I could actually do or something that I could fit in to my life.
However, finally, as soon as I had been through the selection process and started the training, I knew it was right for me and something I wanted to do. It feels like a continuation of my caring role as a nurse and a chance to do one last wonderful thing for a much-loved person.
I live in Kidlington just north of Oxford city, and conduct Humanist funerals, burials and memorial ceremonies across Oxford, Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas.
Apart from this role, I love walking, seeing friends and family and stopping our garden from becoming the jungle it wants to be. I’m not a very good housewife as I’d prefer to be outdoors enjoying the countryside, visiting a house and garden or reading a good book. I volunteer at a theatre, and love doing this and I never have a problem wondering what to do next.
Hopefully you would find me to be warm and approachable, so do contact me if you would like to discuss how to go about arranging a funeral.
I hope to work with you to prepare and deliver a ceremony that reflects the life of your loved one and to create a wonderful and meaningful celebration that will be a source of comfort for you and all those around you.
