A Unique Ceremony 

As your funeral celebrant I will advise, support and guide you through this difficult time. I will assist you in tailoring a funeral befitting your loved one and conduct your chosen service with warmth and dignity. My approach is to help you focus on the impact they had, to realise the many ways their love and influence is with you always.

A traditional funeral service is familiar to many of us, but less recognised is the emotional journey which planning this service can bring. How we remember our loved ones is a personal choice, this may be in a traditional way, but it may also be unconventional.

I believe a funeral should be unique, in keeping with the personality of the person being remembered. It’s my role to be as flexible as is necessary, to hold the space for loved ones to express their grief and show appreciation however they choose.

What I Will Do For You

I’ll work with you to create and deliver a tailored funeral, one which captures the essence of your loved one with honesty and affection.

Music, poetry and readings often play a huge part in non-religious funerals and I’ll help you to choose pieces, build them into the order of service and support those reading or contributing on the day.

To achieve this, I’ll typically;

• Meet with you (normally 1-2 hours duration) to learn about the deceased.
• Discuss choices of music and poetry, taking your lead but able to suggest ideas.
• Offer advice on the practicalities, such as the duration of the service and options for committal.
• Draft a unique ceremony tailored to your loved one, which you’ll see in advance of the funeral, should you wish.
• Liaise with everyone involved as appropriate, speak with Funeral Directors and those contributing on the day.
• Be available by phone/email to answer any questions which may arise.
• On the day, I’ll lead the ceremony we’ve agreed in a calm, dignified and professional manner.
• Provide a copy of the words spoken at the funeral.
