Well hello! I’m Briege.

I am a Humanist Wedding Celebrant and I undoubtedly have the best job in the world! I am truly grateful to the wonderful couples who trust me with their story and I love to craft a unique wedding script that depicts who they are. More of that below!

First, a little bit about me-I live in Belfast with my partner Kieran and our 2 loveable but crazy dogs-Zach and Zeus. I was born and bred in N.Ireland and then spent many years living in other places-England, Scotland and Australia. I love to travel, meet new people and acquaint myself with new customs and cultures.

My wonderful job is to create joyful, intimate, personal and inclusive ceremonies for couples who want to get married, elope or renew their vows. Your wedding day and your ceremony should be all about YOU! And that is the wonderful thing about a Humanist wedding ceremony-it is all about you and your love story. How do you imagine the “vibe” of your day? A small intimate wedding with only close family and friends? No problem! A large 200+ celebration in a lavish venue with the family dog as the ring bearer? Of course, we can make it happen! Elopement on  the North Coast with the raging Atlantic swirling below? Let’s go! I’m ready to help create the ceremony of your dreams! How does it work? After your initial contact , I will meet you for a coffee or have a Zoom call to allow you to ask questions, find out more about me and see if there is a “connection”. It is really important for you to feel comfortable wit your celebrant so this is a chance for you to decide if I am the celebrant for you! If you decide to book me, then the day of your wedding is completely yours! I will never do more than one ceremony in a day.

We will then meet up (or Zoom, if that is easier for you) and, over a coffee (or numerous coffees!), we will discuss your vision. If you are not sure what you want, it is my job to give you ideas and guide you. Based on that, I will go away and create a draft of your unique ceremony script. I aim to create scripts with humour,  emotion and joy. I want my fabulous couples and their guests to feel that I really know you and your story. There will be laughter, sometimes tears, and definitely a feeling of love and joy in the room. That means that you actively participate in the script-you might want to write your own vows. I can help you with that if you need it. You can choose poetry and readings that are meaningful to you as a couple. If you need help, I have loads of suggestions!  You might want to include some rituals that involve your guests-no problem! We may have numerous drafts of the script until it is perfect for you.

Closer to the ceremony date, you may want a wedding rehearsal. That can be arranged if it is necessary.

On the day, I will be there at least 45 minutes before the start of the ceremony. It is my job to guide you through the ceremony, to ensure that everything runs smoothly and, most importantly of all, to ensure that you have the ceremony of your dreams. It will reflect your love story to date, how we have finally arrived at this momentous occasion,  and what your dreams are for your future.
