About Chris Brown
I’m an accredited humanist celebrant based in Berkshire and I cover all of the surrounding counties. I can help you with a funeral or naming ceremony.
I’m a Public Speaker and Events Organiser of many years standing and I have a love of words, language and literature. I enjoy working with you to create a unique and bespoke ceremony that truly reflects your personality and your values, delivered by myself with a warm and passionate style.
Funerals can be what you want them to be these days. They are not constrained by rules (religious or otherwise). I enjoy creating unique ceremonies that celebrate lost lives. Combining sadness and happy memories can create a very special atmosphere that will leave a mark on those present and be a fitting ceremony for your loved one. I will spend time with you learning about the individual and I will create a complete ceremony to be delivered at the crematorium, gravesite, or woodland burial.
I work closely with you and your Funeral Director to ensure the entire ceremony goes smoothly. I will also give you the opportunity to weave in music, poetry or readings if you so choose. Alternatively I have many suggestions for appropriate choices.
Naming Ceremonies can be vibrant, mellow, quirky, sweet. They often include commitments from parents or other loved ones. Some of them involve appointing Guideparents or Mentors. They often include a symbolic act and they nearly all involve inviting friends and family to your wonderful party to make memories that last forever. The ceremonies often last about 20 minutes and can take place in your home, your garden, or any public location that works for you. We’ll spend time together talking about the things that are important to you and your family and I’ll weave that into a story to tell on the day. I like to leave your audience with laughter but maybe also a tear in their eyes. Emotion is part of what makes it special.
Just drop me a line to discuss further.
“Chris delivered the most beautiful ceremony. We’re so glad we chose to do this for our special day”
