Memorials and Celebrations of Life
Away from the confines of a traditional time slot of a crematorium (usually 40 minutes or so, in London), there is more time to create a truly personal celebration of someone’s life, with lots of varied elements, video, audio and music, and multiple speakers.
Some crematoria and burial chapels are able to offer longer times and double slots. Do speak to your funeral director.
Or you can have a commemorative gathering for your loved one at a different venue altogether – a hotel, a community room or town hall – or an elegant building, such as Linden House in Hammersmith, the Ayslum in Peckham or Two Temple Place near Victoria Embankment. Or it could be in a place that has meaning for them – a theatre, a sports venue, a club, or outdoors, in a marquee or a garden.
You might want to include some collective symbolic gestures or rituals, to represent something about the person who has died and their connection to everyone present – we can be as creative as you want to be.
Do contact me directly to talk about a fee for a ceremony such as this: each is unique, depending on the number of participants, AV requirements and other elements, length of the service, and a complex ceremony might require a week’s work to craft and bring together. I’m happy to have an initial chat to explore your ideas.
