Hi, my name is Dom and I am a Humanist UK accredited Celebrant based in the Wye Valley/Forest of Dean area on the border of England and Wales.

In my life the most touching and precious events I have experienced have been conducted by humanist celebrants, including my own wedding (almost twenty years ago) and several close family funerals. After every service I have felt that this was something I should do and something I could do well. What could be more personally rewarding than helping others to create special moments and lasting memories? I was not wrong. There is something special in taking the time to get to know each other as we plan a meaningful ceremony that is just perfect for you. There is such warmth and kindness in human connection and the sharing of this one life we know we have. Humanist ceremonies are always fully inclusive and everyone is welcome.

I am currently taking bookings for weddings and vow renewals, so in whatever beautiful place you have chosen, whether it be in a majestic castle, or atop a mountain, under a canopy of trees in an ancient forest, or in a regal stately home, perhaps a formal reception room, your back garden or a neighbour’s field with hay stacks for seats, I will be delighted to be your celebrant.

When it comes to creating ceremonies, I have been told that “inventiveness is a real asset for you as a celebrant” and received praise for “imagination, the beauty of your writing and the way the ceremony flows”. I have also received praise for the ‘rich quality’ of my voice and my “poetic soul”.

‘Love is Wise, hatred is foolish’– Bertrand Russell – I consciously live by humanist values and am always well mannered, kind and respectful. I care about the environment, I abhor all forms of cruelty, I am a vegan. I have a very calm and relaxed manner and thoughtful nature.

I love all kinds of ceremonies especially if they are full of poetry, readings, music and symbolic acts. But most importantly I love ceremonies that are individual, unique and personal, that tell your story in the way you want it to be told, as deep and meaningful, or light hearted as you wish. A ceremony that gives you the power to make your commitment to each other in your special, perfect way.
