Ed Finch

I am based in Crediton, just outside Exeter. I work across Devon to create funeral ceremonies which are personal and meaningful to the families I work with.

I have worked in Education for more than twenty years, and I am proud to use the skills gained through that rewarding career to meet with bereaved families and friends, to listen to them to talk about the person that they have lost and to work with them to create the funeral that they want.

Together, we will think about what it is that needs to be remembered, what it is that needs to be said, how we can reflect the life and values of the person who has died. We may choose music, poetry or readings to reflect the life and passions of the lost person. We will create a ceremony which honours and remembers them, a ceremony that just ‘feels right’ for them.

We will agree the choice of words together. Often family and friends play a part by offering memories and readings. On other occasions, I lead the whole ceremony.
