Hi, I’m Gitte. I am based in Brighton & Hove, but I work in the South East of England and beyond to create ceremonies for laid-back and creative non-religious people.

 

I am wholeheartedly committed to creating original, personal and inclusive non-religious ceremonies – even in various languages, as I am multilingual (I also speak Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, German and Spanish). I help people of any background, identity or status to mark and celebrate their milestones in life in a secular way. 

I will take their wonderful, fascinating and moving stories and craft them into a meaningful and personal service, truly recognising how important they, that moment and their family and friends are.

I use all my skills and smarts from my background as an English lecturer, public speaking and presenting in various contexts (even as a circus ringmaster!) as well as my creative writing craftiness acquired over the years.

I will work closely with you to make sure your wedding ceremony is relaxed and fun or that your person’s funeral is heartfelt and authentic. 

I promise to not discriminate against you on the grounds of your beliefs, disability, mental health, race, culture, gender, gender reassignment, age, marital or parental status, or if your health narrative is different to mine.

Gitte helped us create the most perfect service for our brother (52) who was taken way too early after a short battle with cancer. She spent so much time with us to get to know him and we had the most modern service imaginable. Nothing we wanted was a problem. Gitte spoke as though she’d known him all her life and it was beautiful. We finished the service sharing a glass of champagne with him and writing farewell messages all over his coffin.
