Weddings
My son had a Humanist wedding and it was incredible. None of the stuffy nonsense so many weddings I had attended in the past contained. Instead it was a totally joyous ceremony 100% focussed on the couple and what they wanted to hear and say. That was the event that inspired me to explore becoming a Humanist celebrant and here I am.
Your wedding should be one of the best days of your life, if not the best. The beauty of a Humanist wedding is that it can take place anywhere you like (not a church or registry office). So, if you fancy a ceremony on the beach, go for it. Get hitched in a forest, a gym or someones front room, not a problem. Most ceremonies happen at the venue for the wedding but you are not restricted to a civic building or a church with a Humanist Wedding.
My role is to listen to your hopes and dreams and together with you, ensure your wedding is exactly how you would like it to be.
Write your own vows. Have a symbolic ceremony as part of your day, hand-fasting or include candles or sand!! There are many options, any of which can add impact to the whole ceremony.
Same sex marriage is also something Humanists can do so there is nothing to stop you using us as your celebrant.
Inclusivity is important too and, although I conduct non-religious ceremonies, everyone is welcome and can be accommodated. Ultimately this is about the two of you.
As I tell all of my couples, on the day it is your job to relax into the occasion and live in the moment. It is my job to make that possible. I will take you through it all, step by joyous step, and at the end of the day, you will be legally married.
Get in touch if you think I could be the celebrant for you.
PS. We will have a lot of fun along the way and on the day.
