About me
My name is Jacquie Campbell and I’m a Humanist celebrant, carrying out funerals and memorials. I’m based in Stratford upon Avon, and happy to travel further to wherever I’m needed.
We are all different. So every funeral or memorial should be different, too.
Each person has their own unique story, and their ceremony should help everyone to remember them by telling that story, in a way that reflects their life and personality. It should celebrate them as an individual, while comforting friends and family.
We only get one funeral. And it needs to be perfect.
WHAT I OFFER
I will work with you, and whoever you want to be involved, to create that perfect ceremony for the person you have lost. Together, we’ll explore their story. Their family and friends. Their career and interests. The things they liked, as well as the things they didn’t. Funny stories and happy memories….. all the things that made them who they were. I will then write a tribute that reflects their life and personality and expresses what you would like to say about them.
You may have already chosen music and readings, or I can give you ideas and suggestions ion you want them.
I will lead the ceremony for you on the day of the funeral or memorial, involving other people as much or as little as you want. I will work closely with the Funeral Director, if appropriate, to make sure everything runs smoothly for you.
After the ceremony, you will receive a presentation copy of the tribute to keep and, if you wish, it can be added to the Humanist UK Tribute Archive as a lasting record of your loved one.
COVID 19 CORONAVIRUS
Sadly, current circumstances, are preventing families from having the type of funeral they would normally expect. Nevertheless, we can still create a memorable and moving tribute to your loved one. We can live stream a small ceremony to an invited online audience. We can hold a memorial via video-conferencing, with others contributing if you want them to. Or we can make a recording of the ceremony that can be shared afterwards. These are just some of the options that we can discuss.
HOW I WORK
I will usually meet with you, at your home or somewhere else that you feel comfortable, to start the process of creating the ceremony. This meeting can be with just you, other family members or a larger group. If a face to face meeting isn’t possible, we can do this by phone, Skype, Zoom or any of the other channels available – whatever you prefer.
My contact details are on the right of this page. Please feel free to contact me any time.
