About me

Janet Glaze humanist celebrant

Hello, my name is Janet Glaze, and I am an accredited humanist celebrant working mostly in the counties of Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset. Let me offer you a very warm welcome to my website. If you are on this page looking for a wedding or naming celebrant, then congratulations. You’ve got something you want to celebrate, and I’m here to help!

I am proud to be part of the Humanists UK celebrant network. I would love to work with you to create a bespoke humanist ceremony to mark an important occasion for you, your family and friends. Click on the appropriate tab above to find out more details about the naming, wedding, vow renewal and partnership celebrations I can create for you.

Why am I a humanist celebrant? Put simply – I like people. Every person I meet has their own rich and varied history and their own way of taking joy from life.  I am fascinated by each and every person and their individual story, and love finding creative and fun ways to tell those stories to the rest of the world.

I’m a former teacher, so my professional career centred around getting to know people. I’ve taught both children and adults, staying close by their sides as they experienced the joys and challenges of learning, and encouraging them to celebrate their uniqueness and achievements. I’m a good listener and a confident story teller. I love the process of sharing ideas to create the perfect occasion, and will run your ceremony in a warm, professional manner. Amongst many other things, I taught languages, so if you would like your ceremony to include elements of Italian, French or Russian, I can help with that too.

Becoming a celebrant felt like a natural progression from a lifetime of working with people. I can think of no greater privilege or pleasure than working with you to craft exactly the ceremony you want which will mark an important point in your life.

My eldest daughter was married in a humanist wedding ceremony.  It was a beautiful day, full of love, and very personal to her and her husband. When I read about Humanism before her ceremony, I realised that I have been a humanist all my life. Humanism is an outlook on life which is based on the best humanity has to offer. It celebrates the good in all people and the desire to respect and care for others and the world around us.

If you’d like to get in touch, I’m always happy to have a no obligation chat via email, phone, Skype, FaceTime or WhatsApp so that you can find out more about how I can help you. I look forward to hearing from you.
