As a Life Celebrant, my role is to help close family, friends and funeral professionals find the most fitting commemoration of a loved one, whether for a funeral, memorial or living memorial.

Every ceremony reflects the uniqueness of a person and their life and its meaning. I spend time gathering tributes and individual stories to prepare a ceremony that is truthful and meaningful to family and friends. I can advise on music and readings choices for a funeral ceremony to find the right balance between meaning, solace and celebration.

Every human steers a life that sends out surging ripples all around us. In turn, our life rocks from the waves other people create. Life begins and life ends, but those ripples carry on – in the minds, memories and behaviour of families, friends, fellow passengers and passers-by.

Humour is often part of my process; laughter and anecdotes stir memory and bring deep joy. I imagine the universe as a natural place with no supernatural forces. Even though I think that this life is the only life we have, I continue to spend large chunks of mine loudly encouraging a football team that ignores me and my wishes.
