About Judith

My commitment to humanism has evolved over the years. I realise that I have always been a humanist but it is life’s ups and downs, joys and sorrows that have confirmed it.  The most positive answer to death is the wholehearted and continuing affirmation of life.

I hope I can be of some help to you at a very difficult time and give you the sort of funeral ceremony that does justice to your loved one. This is your time and your ceremony and I will create a completely unique ceremony for you.  I can advise on suitable readings and music if you would like me to. When we devise a secular ceremony and are not constrained by the requirement to have a particular form of words there is a wealth of beautiful and appropriate material that can be used. A humanist funeral ceremony is an opportunity to acknowledge your loss but also to celebrate the life of the person who has died.

Funerals are an important part of the grieving process and I aim to give you something that you can look back on and feel happy with.  You will receive a presentation copy of the ceremony script.

An ex criminal and family law barrister I am an accomplished and experienced public speaker who prepares meticulously and will calmly guide you through the process. I will be happy to visit you in your home to plan the ceremony and will send you a draft of the script after the meeting for your approval.  We can communicate by telephone or email after the initial meeting and I will be there to greet you as you arrive for the ceremony. I am happy to travel up to 35 miles from the BD24 postcode.
