I’m a new, enthusiastic humanist funeral celebrant and have just joined the team working in West Yorkshire.

My starting point is the family and the creation of a service which meets their needs. I work alongside families, friends and funeral directors to ensure a meaningful, personal and respectful ceremony for the person who has died.

I have recently retired from working in the NHS for nearly 40 years as a nurse, midwife and manager so I am used to being with people at both joyful and sad times in their lives.  Over time I have built up many skills to use in this new role.

So far all my feedback has been really positive; ‘Many thanks for the lovely service. You helped us through and it was lovely to reflect our memories of my dad.’
