I am a lifelong lover of weddings and a wedding photo obsessive. Some of my earliest memories are of me playing at being a bride in my mom’s wedding dress in the back garden and spending hours poring over every detail of my parent’s wedding album. I spent a few years writing for the incredibly beautiful Love My Dress wedding blog and now I am so happy to say that I am an accredited wedding celebrant.

What I love most about humanist wedding ceremonies is that no two will ever be the same as they are personal to you, your love story and your wishes for the occasion.

There is absolutely no ‘cut and paste’ round here and no following of restrictive guidelines like in a registrar wedding.

While the overall rate of marriage has been declining, the number of humanist weddings has continued to grow as they offer a couple a way of being true to your own values and beliefs.

Some couples choose a simple and traditional ceremony that follows the format that we are all familiar with, while others may choose one that includes a communal shot half way though or the mother of a bride playing ‘All You Need is Love’ on the flute on arrival. This is your opportunity to create an occasion that tells your story and all that is special to you two.

Whatever choices you make will ensure that this is not the boring bit of the day that you *must get through* to get on with the real celebration! One of my bespoke ceremonies *is* the start of the celebrations.
