Funerals

Funerals and Memorial Ceremonies

At a humanist funeral or memorial ceremony, the emphasis is entirely on the life, achievements and personality of the person who has died. As a celebrant I work closely with the family and friends of the deceased to create a personal service that is unique and meaningful and that captures and honours that person’s life.

The ceremony gives family and friends both an opportunity to share and express their sadness and loss and to celebrate and pay tribute to the life that has been lived.  The ceremony can be as formal or informal, as you wish. How I work

When planning a funeral or memorial ceremony, I will meet with you in order to discuss all aspects of the ceremony. Each ceremony is sensitively and individually created to commemorate and celebrate the life of the person who has died. The personal tribute at the heart of each and every ceremony will be written and delivered in an authentic and insightful way. Precious memories and stories will be shared using music, poetry, readings and prose. I will liaise with the Funeral Director to make sure that everything runs smoothly and after the ceremony will leave you with a presentation script of the ceremony as a keepsake.

Whatever the circumstances, I would like to create the right ceremony for you and your loved one. I am sensitive, compassionate and non-judgmental to the wishes of everyone involved.
