Who am I?
Hello, I’m Oliver,
I am married with two grown-up children and I live in West London. That’s why I work mainly with couples in and around London, but I am happy to go wherever you would like to hold your ceremony – abroad as well, as I speak reasonable Spanish and basic French.
My day job, as a qualitative market researcher, means that I know a lot about listening to people’s stories and turning what I hear into something moving and engaging.
To see me in action, watch this video:
I have loads of experience in presenting to people (from conferences to small groups) and I love nothing better than making other people’s stories, hopes and memories come to life.
“From the first couple of minutes chatting to you on Zoom, we knew you were ‘the one’ for us. We so enjoyed the process of telling you our story and were absolutely delighted with our service on the 18th. You beautifully captured us as individuals and a couple and we couldn’t have wished for a more personal, intimate and relaxed service. The day was just wonderful and exactly as we’d hoped, so thank you so much for your huge role in this. We have both enjoyed getting to know you and hopefully you can help us with another big life event next year …” (see my Namings page!) Sarah & Henri
What’s so great about Humanist ceremonies? – Whether it’s a funeral, a wedding or a naming – Humanist ceremonies are designed to reflect the core person or couple, their stories, interests and passions, the music you / they love, the poems and readings that inspire and your very own words of life-long commitment to your partner or to your child or the true reflection of a beloved deceased.
So what can I do for you? – I’m a great listener and writer, so my ceremonies are:
- Story-telling at its best – personal, powerful, sympathetic and true-to-life
- Moving, sincere, meaningful and significant
- Vivid, humorous (where appropriate) and joyful
- Relaxed and enjoyable but with the right amount of formality and gravitas
- Imaginative as well carefully planned and choreographed.
Personally, I’m confident and calm and will coolly deal with any unexpected happenings – that’s my job. You can simply focus on being in your ceremony and leave the rest to me.
“I would like to thank you for the wonderful script you had written about Dad, it was read with compassion and summed up my Dad’s life beautifully. Everyone who attended my Dad’s service said how lovely it was to hear all the lovely things you said about Dad and how it reminded them of Dad especially his famous sayings and his attitude to life. Thank you again.” Michelle
If you feel that I could help you to make your ceremony really special – do give me a ring or send me an email. I’d love to hear from you.
