Peter Allison
I consider it a great honour to be able to work with bereaved families in the production and delivery of a fitting and individual funeral ceremony. From the moment I agree to create and deliver a truly personal funeral script I ensure that I am there at every step, to make sure we get everything just right. Please read some of the comments on the Testimonials page.
With a growing number of the UK population now describing themselves as non-religious, it is increasingly important that we are able to say farewell to a loved one in a way that seems most fitting for them, in a unique and personal way that remains true to their beliefs, their values, their outlook, and the way they lived their life.
If you would like me to produce and deliver a fitting tribute and an individual ceremony for a funeral, then please get in touch. We’ll then meet to talk about the life, values and character of your loved one, and discuss any preferences for funeral music, poems, readings etc, as well as some of the more practical questions about the funeral ceremony itself. preferably in person, or online, or by phone if necessary. Once you get in touch we can arrange the meeting and the method that best suits you.
After our initial meeting, I will create a bespoke and beautiful tribute, and I will write and present the whole ceremony for you. I will be available by phone or online, to answer any questions or other thoughts that might come to mind as the funeral draws near.
You will find that I have a very warm and open approach, and I will be there for you at every stage of the funeral process, from the initial meeting, right through to the flower terrace after the ceremony.
After the funeral, I will send you a presentation version of the script, as a keepsake of everything that was said on the day I will also assist with the process of uploading your loved one’s tribute to Humanists UK’s vast online tribute archive, if you let me know you would like it added to the archive.
Humanist funeral ceremonies focus on the individual, in a non-religious and inclusive way, by remembering and celebrating their life. I am a funeral celebrant, fully trained and accredited by Humanists UK. This means that I am part of a national network, maintaining exceptionally high standards at all times.
