Privacy and Data Security

As a celebrant, during the course of preparing a ceremony, I will necessarily gather and process personal information. All personal information is held securely.

Most of the information I gather will be in the form of handwritten notes. These will be typed up electronically in a matter of days and once this has happened the handwritten notes will be sensitively destroyed.

The information I store is only used for the specific purpose of producing a personalised ceremony. Once complete it will be held for reference in case there are any further ceremonies you may require me to undertake. I will usually retain the scripts I write for a ceremony for a period of at least five years – sometimes longer. Any information I retain will be held securely and your privacy will always be respected.

Information will never be passed on to or shared with any third parties other than potentially with other Humanist celebrants if it is essential to ensure your ceremony proceeds well or for quality assurance purposes.  It will only be shared otherwise with your express written consent.

You can choose to have all your information erased immediately after a ceremony has completed, or at any time thereafter. Please get in touch by telephone or email if you wish this to happen.

Thanks

Peter
