About Prudence Fassnidge

If you’re reading this you’re likely getting married – so first and foremost, congratulations!

You’re also likely to be doing your wedding day a little differently to most. If you want to marry exactly where, when and how you want, then a humanist wedding is perfect for you. And if you want your ceremony to feel personal, to be imbued with meaning and to tell your story – then I’m thrilled you’ve found me here and I’m already excited to work with you.

My favourite thing about being a wedding celebrant is getting to know my couples, hearing all their ideas and teasing out the beautiful details and eccentricities that make you, as a pairing, one of a kind. Then I get to translate that into a meaningful celebration of the life you are building together (it’s the best job in the world!). You might already know exactly how you want your wedding ceremony to look, feel and sound. Or perhaps you’re feeling a little overwhelmed by all the possibilities. Either way, I can provide as much inspiration and guidance as you would like. Together we can make your ceremony feel very traditional, completely unconventional, or anywhere along the spectrum! If you want to know more about the process we go through to design your ceremony, you can read a little more about it here.

My own humanist wedding ceremony is what led me to becoming an accredited celebrant with Humanists UK. Our celebrant played such an important role in making our day so romantic, joyful and utterly unique. I couldn’t think of a better job than to help other couples have their own version of this experience, and it’s now my favourite thing that I do.

I am a proud recommended supplier of LGBTQ Equality Weddings.

I live in Tooting in South West London, but I am happy to travel beyond London and overseas for weddings. When I’m not performing wedding ceremonies I work for an education charity, where I am an Early Years teacher trainer and lecturer in education. I used to be a Reception teacher and I love working with children. I am passionate about food and cooking, and I love the arts, especially theatre, ballet and film. London is my favourite city in the world and I feel lucky every day that I live here.
