Hello, I’m Sarah, a Humanists UK accredited wedding celebrant. I can help you to plan, design and deliver the perfect wedding ceremony for your needs, including vow renewals.

I will work closely with you, as a couple, to create an inclusive, non-religious ceremony that truly reflects who you are; putting you at the heart and centre of your wedding and giving you the opportunity to be married in a way that is both meaningful and personal.

From the traditional to the contemporary, or something in-between, my ceremonies are life affirming and fun; full of love and laughter.

I live in Bude, and work mostly in the Cornwall and North Devon region.

About me 

I have lived in North Cornwall for the past 8 years. Prior to which, I was gainfully employed as a qualified nurse and later a Chartered Research Psychologist working in the field of Defence Science and Technology. A wonderful career, spent developing and promoting best practice in the Training, Performance, Protection, Health and Well-Being of our UK Armed Forces.

As a trained celebrant, I am able to combine the skills I have acquired through working with people, with the requirements of creating, planning and delivering bespoke ceremonies. I am a confident communicator in various settings and with different sized groups of people.

I love the spoken word / communication, be-it poetry, plays, music, both ‘old-fashioned’ and contemporary. There is always something profound that can be found to help to describe who you are, your individuality, your presence, your value.

Yes, I can talk, but more importantly I can listen. I can ‘get to know you’ quite quickly and then craft and deliver the ceremony of your dreams. It’s ‘all about you’ and what you want to convey to others about the importance of both yourselves’ and them.

Creating memories……….my new mission in life! Humanism is founded in the belief that you only have one life – so live it well.

I found my Humanist ‘calling’ at my own son’s wedding in September 2022. The Humanist Celebrant (Liz) was amazing. I learnt so many things about the happy couple on that day, that I had not even been aware of!

Humbling, yet so comforting, that someone had managed to understand them both so well and to convey such important and emotional content with the appropriate mix of humour, elegance and gravitas (without embarrassing them)!
