About Serena Cross

Serena Cross
Something old, something new… Something different, something YOU….
If a conventional church wedding isn’t your bag, and you’re after something more personal and joyful than just a register office – let’s talk!
As a humanist celebrant, I’ll consult with you and write and deliver a non-religious ceremony that’s a real one-off and expresses who you are. Whether you want to get married in your front room, a barn, or a woodland, I can work with you to create your dream wedding: big or small, wild or serene. And I do solemnly swear that your ceremony will never be boooooring and will be remembered by everyone – for all the right reasons!
I may not be religious, but I’ve always been a massive fan of rituals and celebrations that mark the important moments in life with family and friends. I love being a wedding celebrant and I find that being a good one draws upon the same skills and passions as my career as a music and arts television programme maker and concert curator: getting to know people, collaborating, researching stories, being organised, writing scripts, public speaking, delving into my library of literature and my contact book of musicians…
I live in Crouch End / Hornsey in North London with my partner (who’s a musician) and our two teenagers and I am the unofficial social secretary for all our friends! I run the girls’ section at a local cricket club and I’m an Arsenal FC season ticket holder. I love walking and being in nature and wild swimming. I read vegan cookbooks like they’re novels, I’m passionate about inclusivity….
Anyway, enough about me…
Do get in touch and we can have a (free) initial chat on the phone/online/in person and find out whether you want me to marry you! London-based, with strong connections in the South East, Norwich, Cambridge and Bristol, I’m happy to discuss travelling anywhere in the UK and even overseas.
