It’s all about you…

When planning your wedding it’s always wonderful to know that your ceremony is really going to be about you. Lots of things that are incorporated into one of my ceremonies help to highlight exactly who you are as a couple, your story, why you have chosen to get married and who and what are most important to you.

The Venue

Choosing the right location for your ceremony can say a lot about who you are as a couple and the type of environment you feel most comfortable in.  Humanist ceremonies can be held anywhere, unlike registry weddings which need to be held at licensed venues.  You can get married in a barn, in the woods, on a beach, even in a dungeon if you want!!

Your Story

It’s important that your ceremony shows your uniqueness as a couple.  As part of your ceremony I can share with your guests how you met, what you thought of each other, how you got together and how you came to be here on your wedding day.  You can share what is important to you, what you love about each other and who is special to you in your lives.

Promises/Vows

We can discuss various options of what could be included in your ceremony.  Some people like to write their own promises or vows and some prefer to use templates as a reference from which you can choose the ones that hold the most meaning for you.  The exchanging of rings is a popular choice for most people as a symbol of your love for one another but by no means essential if it’s not for you.

Other options

There are plenty of other personal touches that can be included too, such as music, readings, poems, handfasting, drinking from the Quaich, lighting a candle/s for people who are unable to be with you on your special day and anything else you would like to include.
