About me

Before becoming absorbed by the complete joy of wedding celebrancy, my working life was mainly dedicated to secondary teaching. Being an English teacher was dreamy: losing myself in wonderful books, plays and poems while taking increasingly agreeable teenagers along on the ride; supporting young people on their individual journeys in and outside of the classroom; relishing being able to give as good as I get with the craic from charmingly cheeky rascals every day. Since having my own two little ones, however, I have stepped back from the classroom (and now get my daily dose of cheekiness from around the dinner table!).

Telling your story, your way

My love of teaching is one of the reasons I adore being a wedding celebrant. Akin to being in a school, this role allows me to meet a plethora of interesting people with captivating stories, just like yours, and gives me the privilege of playing a small role in an important time in couples’ lives. Furthermore, it affords me the opportunity to carefully craft a ceremony, captivating guests with a beautiful love story while also doing what I do best: expertly delivering to a collection of enthusiastic, exuberant and sometimes rather excitable guests. My natural comic timing and delivery, paired with a sensitive and charming way with words, means you can be sure you’ll have a show-stopping, stand-out wedding ceremony which you and your guests will always remember.

Getting to hear your love story and capturing it for your loved ones in a completely bespoke and original way is an absolute privilege. Seriously, is there a better job?

‘The rules are there ain’t no rules’

I feel honoured that this role gives me the opportunity to get to know so many amazing and diverse couples, all of whom embrace the wonderful freedom offered by a humanist wedding. To quote Grease, ‘the rules are there ain’t no rules’ and nothing could be truer of a humanist ceremony.  There really is no same-same in a humanist wedding ceremony, and I will dedicate myself to collaborating with you to ensure your vision for the wedding you want, no matter how outlandish, can be realised.
