About Sue Willson
Sue lives in Farnham in Surrey. She takes humanist non-religious weddings, partnership and naming ceremonies in this area.
She is married, and has been a teacher and a secretary. She has been a humanist celebrant since 2000 and has conducted about 250 ceremonies. Preparing and conducting them uses skills she developed in her previous work, and she enjoys meeting her clients and creating ceremonies that express exactly what they wish to say.
She discovered humanist funerals after her father requested a non-religious funeral. The British Humanist Association helped her to find what they were looking for, and she later became a BHA member, then trained as a celebrant. She is so grateful to her father for inadvertantly leading her to what is now an important and very rewarding part of her life, as well as a third career. She is proud to offer people ceremonies that are personal and dignified ways of marking important milestones in their lives.
As a celebrant Sue is accredited by the British Humanist Association ( BHA). This means that you have the security of knowng that she works within their professional code 0f conduct, and is covered by their public liability and private indemnity insurance. As a BHA celebrant she contributes a percentage of each ceremony fee received as a levy towards celebrants’ training and quality standards and to the promotion and development of the BHA’s Humanist Ceremonies network.
When she is not working, Sue greatly enjoys reading and taking part in literature classes and reading groups. She is interested in art and history, as well as current affairs. She loves being in the countryside and gardens and by the sea, and also visiting London and other cities.
Do feel free to contact her if you wish to talk about non-religious ceremonies.
