Creating the perfect ceremony for you

As a funeral celebrant, my job is to work with you to create a memorable ceremony and to help ease the process as you prepare to say goodbye. Like most of us, I’ve had my own experiences with grief; I’m passionate about creating space to celebrate your loved one and to share the stories that will stay with you long after the ceremony itself. I currently work across Berkshire and Hampshire, though am happy to travel further.

 

A bit about me

I’ve lived in and around Reading for most of my life, currently living just over the Berkshire/Hampshire border. I have a young family, who are a constant reminder of how extraordinary life is. As a Humanist myself, I believe in the power of people; I believe it is our right and responsibility to define our purpose in life, and to help others to do the same. Aside from celebrancy, I have a background in project management across multiple industries, most recently in the humanitarian sector.

 

What is a Humanist funeral?

You don’t have to be a member to have a Humanist ceremony; if you believe in celebrating the life of your loved one by focussing on the experiences you shared, then a Humanist funeral could be the right option for you.

Arranging a funeral can be an overwhelming experience; I’ll work with you (and your chosen Funeral Directors where needed) to create a personal service for your loved one. I’ll meet with you to talk through the service, any music and readings you’d like included, answer any questions, and – most importantly – hear about the life we’re celebrating.

If you’re looking to design a unique ceremony – perhaps a memorial service at home or spreading of your loved ones ashes somewhere special – we can work together to create the perfect occasion.
