Vow renewals

“She speaks with warmth and brings the congregation with her on a journey.”

Many couples arrive at a moment when they wish to renew their commitment to each other. For example, perhaps there has been a big change in your lives, a special anniversary may prompt the idea of renewal, or possibly you would now like to celebrate your relationship in a different way from the original ceremony. Whatever the reason, vow renewal ceremonies can be as full of love and celebration as a wedding.

Some couples wish to repeat their original vows, others want to refresh them or create new ones for the next stage of their lives and relationship. Rings may be reblessed and replaced on fingers, new rings added or other gifts or symbolic gestures made to symbolise renewal. There may be new family members and friends to involve in the ceremony too – anything is possible.

It’s not a legal ceremony so you are free to hold a vow renewal ceremony anywhere: your garden, a venue or even a bowling club – anywhere that matters to you (depending on Covid regulations). It can be as like or unlikeĀ  wedding ceremony as you want it to be, with or without subsequent celebrations with friends and family – it’s up to you.
